What is a lottie file?

The technical term is a JSON file-based animation file. They are small files that work on any device and can scale up or down without pixelation. That’s all just a fancy way of saying it’s basically an SVG or Vectorized Giphy. 

Our definition of a Lottie file is a fun easy way to make any website dynamic and engaging. If you look at the Webvio homepage you’re greeted with an on-brand Lottie file. If you keep scrolling you’ll see two more. They create an incredible online experience and best of all, they load super fast!

You can make them yourself in After Effects following along with the Webflow University Course. Or you can use our favorite marketplace for Lottie files: https://lottiefiles.com/
